CES 2014: An In-Depth View Of NVIDIA Tegra K1 192 Cores
Description
Nick Stam gives an overview of NVIDIA's new Tegra K1 processor, using the new Kepler technology so that cellular devices can now have the graphic quality of a desktop computer. Stam believes you can never have too much power for graphics quality - the consumer always wants it better. People want their mobile to be as high performance as their PCs.
Stam talks about Unreal Engine 3 and 4 and how games developed on this platform will be able to be played on smartphones and tablets b/c of the Tegra chip. Gives a short demo with Tegra K1 on UE4. To see a more in depth demo of the Tegra K1 with UE4, see http://youtu.be/VbDL1aueheQ.
32 bit quad core will be in devices in Q2 of 2014, and 64 bit dual core will release in Q4 of this year.
The Tegra is also mobile in automotive for the in-car entertainment and customizable instrument clusters. BMW and Audi where on the 2014 show floor showing off latest Tegra chips. Tesla, VW, Lamborghini, Bentley also use Nvidia chips.
