Corning: DAS As Converged Solution
Description
Scott Torrey, Director, Product Line Management, Wireless Division at Corning, discusses trends in the indoor distributed antenna system (DAS) market.
He describes double digit growth in the North America, which is 65% of the overall market for DAS globally. With increased speeds of LTE, people want to see that same speed when indoors. Customers also want cost savings by converging their infrastructure through one platform.
Corning sees the solution to this being to use fiber-based infrastructure to provide fiber coverage to every edge of the network. In the wireless field, this means to the antenna, which is where their DAS systems come into play.
Learn about Corning's role in what they call "converged solutions" for venues and buildings and how they believe their method can combine cellular, wi-fi, and ethernet in the same infrastructure.
