CCA Fall 2013: Amdocs Gains SON Functionality With Actix Acquisition

According to Vinit Srivastava, Actix Account Director, Actix gathers call trace and user equipment detail data from radio access network (RAN) equipment providers (ie Huawe, Ericsson etc..) and then applies proprietary algorithms to to geolocate subscribers. This correlated, geolocated subscriber data allows carriers to make network adjustments to improve customer experience.

Historically a reactive network optimization solution, Actix is testing a proactive, software optimization network (SON) solution. Actix roots date back to a drive test company.

On September 3, 2013, Amdocs signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Actix for $120 million
