#GoogleATX Google Fiber Jack Product Review
Description
"Fiber Jack" is Google's version of a network interface device (NID), which has been optimized for a) form factor and b) proprietary software stack optimized for memory and performance.
Google runs a single strand of fiber into your house, which plugs into the Fiber Jack. The Fiber Jack, in turn, converts fiber signal to ethernet. Because network interface device (NID) is placed inside the house, is much smaller than industry standard network interface devices. "It's small but its powerful and connects you to the rest of the world".
In addition, Google has invested in proprietary software stacks to optimize memory and performance without investing in heavy hardware.
