Telecom Operator NFV, SDN Needs Require Telecom Focus

RCR Wireless News spoke with Nabil Souli, CEO at Ubiqube, about the company’s work with French operator Orange on a pilot test of SDN- and NFV-based service offerings targeting small- and mid-sized business in France. Ubiqube said its work on the project allowed Orange to create digital plug-and-play, customizable services that can be managed by a Web portal.

Souli also touched on a number of challenges facing telecom operators as they look to deploy virtualized platforms, including business models, the importance of integration and interoperability. In addition, Souli noted the different needs of telecom operators compared with data center and IT businesses require a different view on the deployment of virtualized platforms.
