Historically, set designers investigated glass as a light-guide plate material, but the optical performance simply did not meet the requirements of LCD TVs. Corning’s new flat-glass composition – Iris ™ Glass –provides leading levels of transmission and color shift, surpassing optical requirements of LCDs.
