A-GNSS is the dominant location technology in smartphones (includes A-GPS, A-GLONASS and other GNSS constellations), and enables location based applications and emergency services such as E911.

Testing in the field is always going to be necessary, but debugging and fixing problems in the field is expensive and time consuming. By recording signals in the field and playing them back in the lab, performance can be reliably and repeatably benchmarked. This is enabled by Spirent's Hybrid Location Test System (HLTS) platform for smartphone location testing.
