As part of SMART's innovation efforts, PLDT Group has joined with 18 other companies in the Philippines, HK and Indonesia to build IdeaSpace- a non-profit foundation that helps budding technology entrepreneurs develop and fund groundbreaking solutions in mobile, telecom, and beyond from across Southeast Asia. Because Mr. Valencia is working in both roles, he has a unique perspective on what innovation is needed in, and coming from, emerging markets like the Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar.
