Episode #332: Your Facebook Profile Picture Is As Good As A Free Banner Ad

The one item for building a Startup Company no one ever budgets enough for is Marketing. It seems to be a human trait to believe that "If you build it they will come." But what about if "they" don't know "it" exists? Of if they know what they want, but can't remember your business or products name?



Facebook has gone from being a jumble of oddly personal conversations to a place where business begins to happen. People now are as likely to join a Business Networking Group on Facebook as they are to join one about their favorite hobby. Your conversations and interactions in the business and professional groups can be more influential then other forms of marketing you may be doing.



I am surprised how few people use their Facebook profile pictures as a form of marketing. Whenever you make a comment, post a link, respond in a conversation and so on your Facebook profile picture is shown by your action AND it is now shown in the Profile Picture Feed at the top of the Facebook Group Page. This is terrific free marketing! You can show your logo, add your Company Name, or even post an offer or special.
