Industry analytics firm Ovum is reporting that growth trends in the Middle Eastern and African telecom markets will continue in 2015. Ovum expects the number of mobile subscriptions in Africa to increase by 9.7 percent in Africa and 4.9 percent in the Middle East.
Australia’s largest carrier Telstra is purchasing Pacnet Limited for a reported $697 million. Pacnet owns and operates a number of undersea cables linking Asia and Pacific markets to the United States. Telstra is using the deal to expand in the Asian market.
