Spirent Announces LTE Stress Test Solution To Reduce
Description
September 14, 2012. Spirent Communications announced yesterday the launch of a call reliability device test solution that will help mobile operators reduce smartphone returns.
The International Wireless Industry Consortium concluded that No Fault Found return rates on smartphone was in the range of 15-20 percent. Given the impact of smartphone returns on a carrier's cash flow, the ability to reduce no fault returns could have a material impact on a carriers bottom line.
"Call reliability testing, often called "stress testing", is aimed at identifying issues that can cause returns before devices are commercially deployed," said Nigel Wright, Spirent's VP Corporate Marketing. "Unlike the standard conformance tests that pre-commercial devices must pass, call reliability testing replicates realistic user scenarios in which the device is used over long periods of time."
