According to Doug Fisher, SVP of Intel's Software and Services Group, if measured by resources allocated to software, Intel would be one of the world's largest software companies.
In 2014, Intel had a big push into mobile resulting in over 40 million tablets shipped. For 2015, Hadoop and Open Stack will be a major investment area.
Within Software and Services business unit, Intel has a developer relations organization that touches hundreds of thousands of ISVs and millions of developers.
The developer relationship organizations creates a set of development tools for the developer community. They provide10.5 million developers with hundreds of applications each year.
Over the past 12 months, Intel offers HTML5 SDK so that they can develop, deploy and understand HTML applications available to them. In addition, Intel launched IoT developer toolkit in 2015.
