Doug Fisher, SVP and General Manager of the Software and Services Group for Intel Corporation, shares his views on big trends for 2015, which include IoT.
Douglas W. Fisher is senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group for Intel Corporation. He is responsible for software and software R&D at Intel worldwide, with the goal to enhance computing and connectivity for Intel® architecture across the software ecosystem, delivering value end to end from the device edge through to the data center.
With resources spanning more than 20 countries, partnerships with over 6,000 independent software vendors and a robust developer program covering more than 10M software, entrepreneurial, enthusiast and hobbyist developers, Intel software fuels worldwide innovation to help developers use the latest computing and communications technologies.
Previously Fisher served as corporate vice president and general manager of the System Software Division, and prior to that he served as director of worldwide engineering for Intel Online Services based in Europe, where he established the International Engineering organization.
Prior to joining Intel, Fisher worked at Hewlett-Packard for 10 years where he began his career as a software developer.
Fisher holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and a master's degree in management from Stanford University.
Fisher currently serves as chairman of the board of the Linux Foundation and is a member of the internal board for Wind River Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation.
