#TC3Summit Deutsche Telekom Partnership And Investment Overview
Description
While attending 2013 #TC3Summit, Heikki Makijarvi, Deutsche Telekom's SVP Group Business Development and Venturing, discusses with RCR Wireless News, Deutsche Telekom's partnering success over the past 2 years that has resulted in over 40 SMB Cloud application partnerships. As evidence of its intense focus on sourcing technology partnerships, Heikki's team met with 106 companies during June, July and August 2013.
Cloud SMB, M2M, and security are key areas of interest for Deutsche Telekom. Within Cloud SMB, Deutsche Telekom pursues opportunities with "anchor" applications (i.e. Office 365 and Symantec) as well as narrow category partners that are known to be important to many of its customers (i.e. Box). In addition to the anchor and specific category market segments, Deutsche Telekom also considers "boost" technology companies which emerge outside their defined search segments.
Other than Silicon Valley, Deutsche Telekom is pursuing partners in Israel, which has a long history of producing stand alone and silicon valley acquired security and communications companies.
