Facebook's Infrastructure Data Centers organization designs, builds, and operates the most efficient and cutting-edge data center infrastructure in the world. The hardware and software systems that we support serve as the backbone for connecting more than 1 billion people. We operate data centers in five U.S. States, one in Sweden, and one in Ireland, and we have points of presence around the globe. We manage the data center site selection strategy; design and build infrastructure; operate our fleet of data centers, servers, and network hardware; and manage standards compliance and sustainability programs.
