Achieve new levels of automation and orchestration by integrating across the IT stack. This is real software defined networking. A production example of this is Arista and VMware enabling network virtualization. The entire flow is hands free and software defined.
Looking at a 4-way ECMP Spine, a new leaf switch comes online without intervention once it is racked and plugged in. ZTPServer automates the leaf switch provisioning.
Automate deployed configuration enables
- Automated discovery of VMware and OpenStack virtual machines
- Auto-provisioning of VLANS via Arista VM Tracer for vSphere and OpenStack
- Auto-binding of VLAN to VXLAN in the top of rack switch acting as a virtual tunnel end-point
- Auto deployment of the inter-VXLAN routing default gateway based on the configuration of the virtualization controller
- Inter-VXLAN routing from one VNI to another
- Intelligent first-hop routing with no "tromboning" of traffic
- Elimination of IP Multicast for flooding of broadcast, unknown and multicast traffic
- Automated learning of each MAC to VXLAN Virtual Tunnel End Point binding
With leaf switch auto-configured in minutes, the IT administrator can connect in as many servers as the switch has 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
