What makes Google Fiber and Google TV remote special?

Google's "obsession" with user experience is illustrated by the unique design of their Google Fiber remote control unit, which has two handy features:

1) Non-line of site, bluetooth technology allows subscribers to change channels from anywhere in the room without having to point remote towards the TV set-top box

2) Motion sensitive backlight in the remote so that the backlight automatically turns on and off when you pick up the device. No more fumbling around in the dark to find button to illuminate remote control.
